Rose's bio

Rose joined Grant Saw in the summer of 1993 as a legal secretary in the litigation department. In 1996 she began studying to become a Legal Executive and qualified as a Fellow of what is now called the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2003. Initially she worked in the litigation department but transferred over to the Wills and Probate Department in 2004.

Rose has a genuine desire to help others and finds that her work in the Wills and Probate Department satisfies this. Creating Wills which meet a client's requirements in every way is of paramount importance to her and the work she does in relation to the administration of estates provides her with an opportunity to help bereaved families at a time when they often need it. She is happy to provide a sympathetic ear when clients need to talk and can provide some “Wise Words” about bereavement, which she personally found very comforting.

Rose specialises in:

  • Administration of estates where there is a Will
  • Administration of estates where there is no Will (intestacy)
  • Obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
  • Deeds of Variation and Deeds of Family Arrangement
  • Will drafting
  • Will trusts
  • Estate planning
  • Lasting powers of attorney – both financial and personal welfare
  • General powers of attorney
  • Registering enduring powers of attorney
  • Deputyship orders – both financial and personal welfare
  • Disabled person trusts
  • Applications to the Court of Protection and Office of the Public Guardian
  • Advice about Inheritance tax and capital gains tax
  • Declarations of trust
  • Deeds of change of name for adults and for minors, with parental agreement
  • Advice about applications for continuing nursing care
  • Advice about paying for care for the elderly

Rose enjoys meeting members of the public and providing advice and information about the above specialisms and has spoken at many seminars and events in the local area over the years.  If you would like to know more about this, please do not hesitate to contact Rose.

Rose's hobbies and interests include performing in amateur theatrical productions locally and singing with a large choir based in Beckenham, modern jive dancing, music of all types, gardening, cycling and reading as well as travelling when possible!

Testimonials

“Thank you so much for your help and kindness 3/1/19 and for the  ‘Wise words about Bereavement’

It’s refreshing to talk to somebody in a company nowadays that do not work from a script.

May I say that you must be a great asset to your employers.

It was your kindness and professionalism that shone through on your companies behalf.

Once again thank you so much.”

Steve

“We have instructed Grant Saw on several occasions over the years and have always received excellent advice at unarguable rates.

Most recently, Rose Walker helped me with a tricky conveyancing matter which had been dragging on for some time with no end in sight. With Rose's first rate approach she expedited a resolution to a matter we had begun to think insoluble.

At every stage of our communication Rose offered cogent and jargon-free guidance, which kept us apace of an often byzantine process.

Based on the highly positive experiences of Grant Saw I would unreservedly recommend Rose Walker and Grant Saw to anyone seeking professional legal advice. Her help has brought tremendous relief to our family in bringing clarity from the kafkaesque.”

Mary

"My late aunt’s solicitor, Rose Walker, made the whole process easier for us by patiently explaining each stage of the process and the actions required by us. Rose was always helpful and answered any queries promptly, which meant that we felt supported and confident in acting as joint executors… Based on our experience, I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Grant Saw to anyone looking for a good reliable firm of solicitors."

Mr and Mrs H

"Thank you so much for all the help you have given me in the past. I have on-going connections in London and especially the South East and don’t hesitate to recommend you to prospective clients. Grant Saw has, with only one other exception, are the best solicitors I have worked with over the years, and may well do again with matters relating to English law."

A local funeral officiant

"You have dealt with us with great sensitivity and showed genuine compassion when we met with you after Mary died. You worked hard to complete the work on time and we were very satisfied with the way you did everything in such a patient, painstaking way. I found you very easy to speak to on the phone and you explained everything very clearly.

It has been a pleasure working with you over these last months. We would be very happy to commend you and Grant Saw Solicitors to others in the future. Thank you again for your kindness and competence."

Sister Barbara Quilty

"Just to express our deep appreciation and thanks for the very kind and professional way you handled the preparation of our wills. From the outset, you dealt with our questions/requests with such speed, attention and thoroughness that we felt we were already valued clients even at the enquiry stage. The standard of service you provided is what every (legal) firm should aim for."

G-T K

"My aunt lived in Greenwich her whole, long life and as her next of kin I was concerned how I could deal with the paperwork and funeral arrangements because I live in America.

I needn't have worried, from the very first email Rose Walker looked after me. She is caring, efficient and thinks of everything! She arranged the funeral and made sure that I knew exactly what was going to happen. Unfortunately I was unable to attend, but she sent photos of the lovely flowers and a copy of the service.

I would recommend Rose to anyone, you are lucky to have her in your firm."

Barbara Hoffman

"We used Grant Saw solicitors previously when we bought our house so we were confident that we'd get a good service for our wills through the Will Aid scheme. Rose Walker was great - she responded to all our questions promptly and explained everything clearly. I would definitely recommend the firm to others and use them again myself in the future."

On 7 April 2015 I walked over Sydney Harbour Bridge.  What’s so special about that I hear you ask?

Well my story starts with me being afraid of heights!  It's particularly bad if I can actually see how high up I am.  Even being on the London Eye was
